“The Strangest Dreams”
I have the strangest dreams when I turn out the light.
Another world revealed to me as I venture into the night.
From a lonely man during the daylight hours.
To frolicking with a beautiful woman among the most fragrant of flowers.
Alone I face the consciousness of daytime reality.
Within the night she comes to save my sanity.
I awake to find I’m on my own again sent to face the day.
Longing for the night to come and fade the day away.
I search the day for her among the unfaced masses.
Turn off the light she appears flowing through a field of the greenest
grasses.
When I awake I can hardly remember the details of her face.
Asleep again she comes to remove the pain with her love in it’s place.
The daylight piercing through the shades brings solitude back to me
once more.
Coming home to the night she awaits my arrival as I pass through my
sub-conscious door.
Separated from her once more I walk among the living dead all day long.
Fall into sub-consciousness her voice welcomes me back with a melodic
love song!
Wishing the hours of the day would pass by at the speed of light.
Return again to her warm embrace , I become addicted to the night!
To blur the lines between my two levels of consciousness hoping to
make her real.
Unable to manifest her into this worldly plane my dreams of her remain
surreal. |
“Time Can Never Sever”
From behind I hear a gentle voice calling out to me.
I turn my head and begin to realize just who it is that I see.
She walks towards me wearing a warm smile and the latest fashion.
A creation of life forged in the fires of passion.
She says ,“It took a long time for me to find you!”
I replied ,”There has always been a part of me deep inside of you.”
She said ,”We have a lot of catching up to do you and I.”
I said ,”I know” as a tear fell from my eye.
She said ,”So much has happened to me , I don’t know where to start
or what to say?”
I said ,”You were with me on the beach watching the sunset on the Monterey
Bay.”
She told me about her growing up and , with the other kids she would
fight.
I spoke of night in the Nevada desert and ,how we stared up at the
stars one beautiful night!
She spoke of boys , love and summertime fun.
I said ,”You were with me in January beneath the warm Hawaiian sun.”
She said ,”So much time has passed us by and ,we can never go back.”
I said ,”I remember us watching the sunrise over Lake Tahoe at dawn
, just at the crack.”
She said ,”Here’s a picture of me in front of some famous water fountain.”
I showed her a picture of the Harley we rode to the top of a Santa
Cruz mountain.
Then she asked ,”How could you stay away from me for so long?”
I replied ,”Everyday and anywhere I went in spirit I took you along.”
I explained that my physical time with her was short but ,I remember
being present for her first day.
And , how after she was gone , I renounced every single holiday!
I said ,”Maybe someday we can put the pain we’ve shared behind us forever.”
As , you and I are bound by ties that , time can never sever! |
